Trading Competition Rules

These guidelines are the key participation criteria. Since the competition will take place on Bookmap’s simulator, we’ve also included simulator-specific rules. Please review both rule sets thoroughly before joining the competition.

Bookmap Trading Simulator Rules

REMEMBER: This competition is free of charge. Every participant gets access to the simulator and all its features at no cost! Plus, you’ll receive free data to trade with.

Time & Duration:

The competition will take place from June 10, 12:00 PM (noon) GMT, until June 13, 12:00 AM (midnight) GMT. Manage and adjust your positions within these days.

Trading Instrument:

Compete using the BTCUSDT on Bookmap’s trading simulator server.

Starting Capital:

Every participant receives a virtual $150,000 for trading in the competition. Note: Your maximum trading position is determined by your account balance.

Order Types:

Participants can place Market, Limit, Stop orders, and even use Brackets from the Bookmap TCP (Trade Control Panel) during the competition. Please note: the Brackets will be client-side and managed by Bookmap.

Maximum Lot Size

To ensure fair competition and manage risk, participants are restricted to a maximum lot size per trade. With a capital of $150k and leverage of x50, the calculation for the maximum lot size is as follows: 150k/70k×50=107.14 BTC (approximately). Additionally, a commission of $25 per contract/bitcoin will be applied to each trade. This limit helps maintain a level playing field and prevents over-leveraging. Please adhere to this rule when executing trades throughout the competition.

Trading Dashboard:

All participants can access the leaderboard here. This will showcase real-time balances and performance rankings of all competitors.

Determining Winners

Participant performance will be assessed based on account balances as of 12:00 AM (midnight) GMT, June 13, 2024. Please note: All open orders will be automatically closed at the market price at the moment the competition concludes.

Trading Behavior During the Competition:

Improper trading behavior during the competition will be reviewed by the Bookmap team to ensure competition integrity and fairness.

How do I sign up?

Simply click on Join the competition, register, and choose a nickname. New to Bookmap? You’ll be redirected to create a free account first. After providing the necessary information, you’ll automatically have a Bookmap account ready to go.

Can I trade before the competition starts?

Yes, you can trade before the competition starts using our Simulator. There is available training up to 1 hour before the competition begins. After that, all results will be reset, and the competition will kick off with fresh starting positions and balances.

Is there any fee to participate in the Bookmap Trading Competition?

No, the competition is entirely free! There’s no need to purchase any data or make any payments. Just register and trade!

Why isn’t the competition showing up in the crosstrading dropdown when I launch Bookmap?

When you first launch Bookmap, ensure you select ‘trading mode’. Once that mode is selected, you will be able to connect Multibook by clicking '+' and choosing the BookmapData platform. After connecting to the Trading Simulator platform, you will see the item in the crosstrading dropdown.

I’m connected to the trading simulator but I can’t send an order. What should I do?

First, check the connection indicator located at the bottom of the Bookmap window (‘BNF/SIM’). ‘SIM’ will change color to indicate the status of the connection. A Yellow indicator shows that Bookmap is in the process of connecting, while Red indicates a lost connection. When ‘SIM’ is White, it signifies a connection.

Can I use tools and third-party products in the competition?

You’re free to use any tools you prefer. However, please note that you will only be able to trade via Bookmap.

What needs to be set up before the competition?

Ensure Bookmap is installed, the instrument is tradeable, and you can view your trading results on the leaderboard (which will be reset before the competition). For guidance on setup, check our how to connect section.

What’s the deadline to be ready with Bookmap?

Ensure you're set up by June 10 at 12pm GMT. Verify that everything works smoothly before the competition begins.

When and how are prizes awarded?

The review takes place at 12:00 AM (midnight) GMT on June 13, 2024. Winners will be announced the following day, June 14, 2024 Keep an eye on the leaderboard and check your email for updates.
